Raisin’ da Bottom Productions, LLC is a community oriented organization in Washington, DC that promotes artist collaboration and development through open mic talent showcase productions, networking opportunities, and community service. Darq Sighed Playaz

The Darq Sighed Playaz is the official performance troupe of Raisin’ da Bottom Productions. Using performance art, we enlighten the public on the darker elements of society with the intent of promoting dialogue that leads to tolerance and acceptance through understanding. The Darq Sighed Playaz is available to partner with human services organizations to provide performances tailored to specific program needs. Contact us for more information.

Tobal daGriot

CEO

Tobal is an actor, author, poet, lyricist, singer, and songwriter. A native Washingtonian, Tobal’s experience has been one familiar to many African American men from the DC area. He discovered the art of writing in grade school, and began performing in his grandfather’s church at a young age. As a young man, he honed his artistic skills on the streets of DC as a street performer, and at the DC Department of Corrections Lorton facility as a ghost writer for illiterate inmates.
Tobal believes in the legitimacy of the performing arts as an educational medium, and recognizes that art is both product and process. As Chief Encouragement Officer (CEO), he founded Raisin’ da Bottom to encourage, enlighten, and motivate.

Tim "The GGT" Gant

DJ/Engineer

Tim is a musician, songwriter, and poet with more than 25 years experience as a Sound Engineer and DJ. An Army veteran, he gained notoriety entertaining troops while stationed in Germany. For Tim, music is the medium to move the masses.

Chris Blackden

Electronics Technician

Chris is a skilled technology professional with a wide range of IT systems and engineering experience. A methodical and focused futurist, he is driven to provide creative solutions that are both scalable and sustainable. Chris holds a BS in Integrated Science, Business, and Technology, and multiple IT certifications. He believes skills in technology is the key to unlocking one’s potential in any field.

Monique "Mo Mo" Burton

Production Assistant

Monique is a singer, songwriter, and rapper. She is active in the community assisting those in need, and is a passionate advocate for the disadvantaged. A strong believer of reliance on faith, Monique is also an active member of her church.

Savonna "Lisa" Robinson

Production Assistant

Savonna is a singer, dancer, and actress. Full of compassion for her fellow man, she is active in the community assisting those in need, and is a companion and caregiver for seniors. Savonna is also an active member of her church and sings in the choir.
